Indian Trails Library
Indian Trails Library underwent a complete overhaul, replacing everything except for the original steel frames and concrete.
The original library, built in 1981, was no longer capable of efficiently serving its customers throughout the Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Prospect Heights and Wheeling suburbs of northern Illinois. The building was tired and outgrown and needed a major refresh. Starting from the ground up, Product Architects transformed the space into a 60,000 square foot facility expanding both floors and adding in multiple new areas, features and services.
One of the top priorities for Indian Trails was to upgrade the technology to attract more guests and make it easier and more exciting to work, learn and interact.
Along with a 3D printer and an 82-inch touchscreen, all desks, booths and chairs were custom fitted with USB ports. This allowed for plenty of places to sit, plug in, and stay connected. To achieve the look and function, Indian Trails chose a mixture of seating, workstations and tables from MillerKnoll, Keilhauer and Allermuir.
The library also implemented a drive through service which allows for online reservations and easy pick-up or drop off for customers on the move. The natural light from the large windows, upgraded technology and sleek lounge areas improved functionality of the Indian Trails Library and allowed for increased productivity, efficiency and retention among their guests.
