Leica Biosystems, a leader in cancer diagnostic instrumentation, sought a modern, wellness-focused workspace for its new office in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Spanning 37,600 sq. ft., the new office was designed to support both groundbreaking research and employee well-being.

Furnished with 100 workstations and 19 private offices, the space embodies a Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic, blending classic design with pops of color to create an inviting, dynamic environment. Knoll and Muuto pieces were selected for their ergonomic support and flexibility, ensuring comfort and efficiency.

Beyond workstations, the office includes thoughtfully designed collaboration areas, breakout rooms, and wellness spaces, each fostering productivity, teamwork, and relaxation. Natural light and biophilic elements were incorporated to enhance the connection to nature, reinforcing a calming and inspiring atmosphere.

Partnering with Heitman Architects, Continua helped bring this vision to life, delivering a hybrid workspace that supports Leica Biosystems’ evolving needs. More than just an office, this space reflects the company’s mission: to provide an environment where innovation in cancer research can thrive.
